Description
Jace Wines, Relevant, 2016, Agrigento, Sicily (Collaboration with Abele Casagrande). Formulated by Chris (with inspiration from Elio) while attending VinExpo last year in NYC, and made in conjunction with winemaker Abele Casagrande, this wine is made from indigenous Sicilian grapes grown in the shadows of the Temple of Juno archeological reserve. At its core, this wine is made with Sicilian powerhouse Nero d’Avola, a wine of deep plum flavors and soft tannins. Equal parts of two rare grapes from the Mount Etna region are added to create a truly unique offering. Nerello Cappuccio adds smoky aromas and peppery flavors, while Nerello Mascalese, quickly becoming Chris’ newest favorite, adds a Pinot Noir-like ripe red fruit and red currant flavor. Despite his initial skepticism, Abele fell in love with this wine, and now makes the wine under his own label for European distribution only. In America, only we have it – Relevant, with only 50 cases allocated and selling quickly, get yours now, before it’s gone.
