DEAR Web,
Ok, yes, I’ve heard the question many times in the last 6 weeks: “Did I miss an announcement?”
No, my bad. Got caught up with life, work, my daughter’s 8th grade graduation, my parents’ visit … you know, “Life got in the way!” Well, this morning I woke up determined to send a short note to bring you “up to date” on the exciting things happening at Jace Wines.
First and foremost: thanks to everyone who attended our tasting at Mission Hills Wine Cellar in late April — it was a HUGE success, almost too much so. We will have another tasting in August, stay tuned.
Second, just off the boat and on their way in a “reefer” truck: a new shipment from Alessandro Pascolo and our newest winery, Glassier, Stefan Vaja, winemaker.
What’s coming?
From Alessandro: more Merlot Selezione (a crowd favorite), Sauvignon Blanc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. And, really exciting for us, our own Jace Wine: Pertinent. Pertinent is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot created by us here at Jace, and vinted for us by Alessandro. Pertinent is the first of our own “homemade” imports, and it is delicious, if we say so ourselves.
From Stefan and Glassier: Stefan is a rock star, and we’ll tell you more about him and his wines in a future newsletter. Coming soon: Chardonnay, Lagrein Reserva, Learn (Stefan’s reserve Cabernet/Merlot blend) and Pinot Bianco. And, really exciting for us, two of our own Jace Wines: Connected (a blend of Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon Blanc, formulated to go with scallops and other fish dishes with citrusy preparation) and Rosé of Lagrein. Yep, summertime is here, and it’s time for Rosé. And this one is delicious — medium body, light copper color, and depth of flavor with a touch of spice. Both Connected and our Rosé will be available this month, in limited quantities.
Coming soon: Nathalie from Rynnhof has just bottled and shipped our Jace Wines Alto Adige red blend: Apropos. A blend of full-bodied Lagrein with fruit-forward Schiava, Apropos offers a refreshing red wine with many depths of aromas and flavors. Also, we were able to snag a limited quantity of Nathalie’s RYN, her proprietary Lagrein/Merlot blend akin to a traditional Napa cabernet.
All of these wines will be limited, and we will update the website to allow immediate orders. Delivery dates will be adjusted relative to receipt of the wine in San Diego (exact date unknown). Those who live in HOT WEATHER climates may want to delay shipment until September…. Stay tuned.
NOTE: Jace Wines personnel will be on summer vacation for 10 days, from July 14-25, 2018. Orders placed during this time will be fulfilled after July 25, 2018.
QUESTIONS? Drop us a line. Best personal regards,
Chris and Bridget
